CBS also led among adults 18-49 with a 2.5 rating, edging out FOX, 2.4, for the top spot. ABC, 2.3, and NBC, 2.1, weren't far behind. UPN averaged 1.5 in the ad-friendly demographic and The WB 1.1.
"Ghost Whisperer" started the night for CBS with a 6.7/12 at 8 p.m., off a little from previous weeks but still tops for the hour by a wide margin. "Dateline" was second for NBC with a 5.1/9, and ABC's "Supernanny" came in third with a 4.7/9. FOX's coverage of the American League Championship Series was fourth. "Friday Night Smackdown!" scored a 2.3/4 for UPN, beating The WB's "What I Like About You" and "Twins."
NBC took the lead at 9 p.m. with "Three Wishes," 5.5/10. FOX's baseball game moved into second with a 5.4/9, narrowly beating CBS' "Threshold." ABC dropped to fourth with "Hope & Faith," 4.3/7, and "Hot Properties," 3.8/7. "Smackdown!" held steady in fifth. "Reba" and "Living With Fran" averaged 2.1/4 for The WB.
CBS regained the top spot at 10 p.m. with "Numb3rs," the night's highest-rated show at 7.2/13. FOX got a 5.6/10 from its ALCS coverage, good enough to beat ABC's "20/20," 5.4/10, and NBC's rerun of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," 5.3/9.
